Recent advances in the domain of software-based and programmable networks have opened up new opportunities towards effective management of network resources. When developing management architectures for these environments, it is of paramount importance to design a monitoring system that can provide frequent, consistent and accurate updates to heterogeneous applications.
In this talk, I will present our recent contributions on the development of new approaches enabling efficient monitoring in large-scale software-based networks. Our system provides flexibility in enabling statistics to be collected from various locations while allowing relevant information to be extracted and disseminated without consuming excessive resources.
