Privacy on the net: Children’s apps are a privacy risk for minors

Dr. Narseo Vallina-Rodríguez, from the Madrid research Institute IMDEA Networks and also affiliated to ICSI from Berkeley (USA), is interviewed for the evening edition of the Spanish news program ‘Telediario’ of the main Spanish public news channel RTVE, about his work on the questionable use that ‘apps’ make of our personal data.

The Data Transparency Lab (DTL) awards grant to IMDEA Networks researchers on data privacy

The Data Transparency Lab (DTL) announced today the projects that will benefit from a 50,000 euro grant to develop applications that allow users to be aware of how companies use their personal data throughout the Internet. Researchers at IMDEA Networks are among the recipients of these grants.Telefónica, together with other organizations such as AT&T, Mozilla, INRIA and MIT Connection Science, sponsors this initiative by the DTL grants program.

Narseo Vallina-Rodríguez was interviewed on May 31st, 2017 by the Data Transparency Lab (DTL) about his current research work and, most particularly, about the Lumen app he is developing with the aim to improve transparency and provide awareness to users about the consequences that their online activities may have in their privacy. Narseo is a DTL 2016 Grantee.
