We interview one of the members of our Alumni Network, Dr. Hany Assasa. Hany obtained his PhD from IMDEA Networks and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid back in July and he is still at our institute as a Post Doc Researcher. He and Dr. Joerg Widmer have just received funding by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) of the U.S. Department of Commerce to work on a new simulator for the next generation mmWave standards.
Professor Dr. Ralf Steinmetz, President of IMDEA Networks’ Board of Trustees and Full Professor at the Multimedia Communications Lab (KOM) of the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany), has been appointed member of the prestigious Academy of Europe. This appointment recognizes Steinmetz’s role as one of the world leaders in the research and development of adaptive seamless multimedia communications.

Paul obtained his PhD from IMDEA Networks and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid back in March 2011 and is now an Associate Professor in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. This makes him the first member of our Alumni Network to achieve tenure.
