5G-DIVE presents its technology cooperation project at National Chiao Tung University

5G-DIVE kick off meeting took place last 31th of October in Hsinchu, Taiwan. This project is funded by the European Commission and the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan. 5G-DIVE is a H2020 5G-PPP project composed of partners from industrial and academic field of both regions, Europe and Taiwan. The consortium comprises 12 partners: European organizations are, UC3M University as Project Coordinator, ADLINK Technology, Ericsson, Interdigital Germany, Telefónica, Telcaria Ideas and Rise. From the Taiwanese side the companies are, Industrial Technology Research Institute, as Taiwanese project coordinator, NCTU, Askey and Institute for Information Industry.

Spanish small cell innovator Celling 5G becomes latest 5TONIC collaborator

Celling 5G, una nueva e innovadora empresa de tecnología española, se ha convertido en el último colaborador en unirse al laboratorio de creación conjunta 5TONIC, con sede en IMDEA Networks Institute. La compañía radicada en Madrid comenzará de inmediato un nuevo proyecto de investigación para probar su solución avanzada para el despliegue de células pequeñas en cooperación con otros miembros de 5TONIC.

Suman Banerjee and Deepak Ganesan join IMDEA Networks as international Visiting Professors

IMDEA Networks welcomes Suman Banerjee and Deepak Ganesan as new visiting professors. Suman and Deepak are two of the world’s most renown wireless communications experts and it is an honor to have them join the Institute. They have both simultaneously been appointed to the eminent role of Chair of Excellence University Carlos III of Madrid-Banco Santander. To date, 12 double appointees have come to IMDEA Networks through that program.

Forward thinking 5G and beyond research at IMDEA Networks receives major backing

The Wireless Networking Group at IMDEA Networks, led by the Institute’s Research Director Dr. Joerg Widmer, has received major financial backing to pursue a new communication paradigm for future very high speed wireless networks. The Madrid-based team has set itself to explore communication in the extremely high frequency part of the radio spectrum, the millimeter wave band (mm-wave) from 30 to 300GHz, to vastly increase data rates of future wireless and mobile networks.
