PhD in future 5G Networks (NETCOM Lab)

The Networks and Communications (NETCOM) Research Group invites applications for a PhD Student position in the area of 5G Networks supervised by Dr. Albert Banchs.

Open position for a Ph.D. student to work on the design and implementation of novel algorithms for future 5G Networks including technologies such as Software Defined Radio and Network Function Virtualization. The activities will be performed in the context of ongoing 5GPPP projects such as 5G NORMA (https://5gnorma.5g-ppp.eu/), 5G CrossHaul (http://5g-crosshaul.eu/) and 5G EX (http://www.5gex.eu), and will leverage a bleeding-edge testbed in the newly created 5Tonic Laboratory (http://www.5tonic.org).

Requirements:

  • Degree in electrical engineering, telecommunication engineering or equivalent disciplines with outstanding marks
  • Solid background on programming, system development and experimentation.
  • Fundamentals of networking protocols. Basic knowledge of the challenges in wireless communications

The selected student will be supervised by Dr. Albert Banchs.
