IMDEA Networks es un instituto internacional de investigación respaldado por el Gobierno Regional de Madrid y la Unión Europea. Para poder asegurar una verdadera perspectiva internacional, el Instituto es de habla inglesa.

IMDEA Networks emplea importantes recursos para la promoción de sus objetivos de divulgación de su producción científica y de colaboración interdisciplinar con la comunidades científica y empresarial a nivel global. La organización de eventos internacionales es uno de los medios empleados por el instituto para generar nuevo conocimiento, y promover la compresión y visibilidad de sus actividades, reuniendo a distinguidos científicos y jóvenes investigadores para presentar, explorar y desarrollar nuevas maneras de producir ciencia y tecnología de vanguardia en el campo de las redes de comunicaciones.
